Reporting Student Progress

The aim of reporting is:

  • To inform parents and students of their progress towards predicted grades or levels at regular intervals during the year.
  • To initiate and support conversations between teaching staff, pupils and parents should a pupil not be making sufficient progress towards her targets.
  • To summarise a student’s pastoral development through attendance, work ethic and a pastoral comment.

What is reported?

The Predicted Grade or Pathways for the end of the current Key Stage.

Except in Key Stage 3, the predictions will be a grade.

The Form Comment 

This is a 100 – 150 word summative comment about your daughter’s Pastoral progress during the year, which is written in July by her Form Tutor. The Form Tutor’s comment might include:

  • Attendance and punctuality
  • Appearance and uniform
  • Personal organisation
  • Participation in school and class activities
  • Relationships with peers/teachers
  • Notable achievements
  • Personal qualities

Cessation of SLG

Please note the system by which you have accessed your daughter’s report in the past, the SLG, is no longer supported by our provider (from Friday 31 March 2017). All reports are now sent out by email directly to the email address that we have on record for you. Reports will also be emailed out to students’ school email address, additionally we are using this method to send out your daughter’s timetables and exam timetables.  If you require a copy of any previous reports please request this via email stating your name, students name and school year of reports required to wggsreports@watfordgirls.herts.sch.uk.  This service will not be given priority and may take at least 10 days to be processed.
