Combined Technician/Site Assistant Role

37 hours per week / full time weeks (not term time)
Required as soon as possible Starting salary circa £17,000
8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 3.45pm Friday (one hour for lunch)

 

We are seeking an adaptable and versatile person to fill a dual role – in term time you will work as part of the Design & Technology department as a Technician, facilitating lessons and assisting the teaching staff; you will also undertake any specific caretaking/DIY tasks relevant to the various technology areas. During school holiday periods you will work as part of the large site team, helping with general caretaking, cleaning and decorating.

The successful applicant will be reliable and have strong practical, organisational and communication skills. The ability to use various types of equipment, machinery and hand tools will be advantageous, as will knowledge of CAD/CAM, DIY skills, health and safety and COSHH requirements.

The successful applicant will be able to work effectively as part of a team and have the ability to prioritise his or her own workload. Appropriate training may be given to the right candidate, for example COSSH training. All applications must be made on the school’s support staff application form. We are seeking to expand our Site Department and need reliable, hardworking staff to fill various caretaking positions. We have a variety of positions on offer, including some casual work. If you are interested please look at our website for full information.

The school provides caretaking services to a number of local primary schools and the successful applicants must be willing to drive to undertake work as necessary on these sites. Therefore, in addition to a positive and pro-active attitude, your own transport and a clean driving licence are essential.

This group of schools is seeking to appoint well-qualified applicants to train as teachers through the School Direct (salaried and unsalaried) Programme for the academic year 2016-17.

Places are offered in a range of subjects but we particularly interested in:

Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
English
Modern Foreign Languages (French, German, Spanish)

Working in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, the schools can offer a high quality and comprehensive training programme. All schools have a proven track record in providing a stimulating and supportive environment for teacher training. Successful applicants will spend most of the week in school, with some time at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.

Applicants are required to have a good degree in a relevant subject to the one they wish to teach. For the salaried route, 3 year career experience is a requirement. All candidates should have some school experience.
