We are seeking an adaptable and versatile person to fill a dual role – in term time you will work as part of the Design & Technology department as a Technician, facilitating lessons and assisting the teaching staff; you will also undertake any specific caretaking/DIY tasks relevant to the various technology areas. During school holiday periods you will work as part of the large site team, helping with general caretaking, cleaning and decorating.
The successful applicant will be reliable and have strong practical, organisational and communication skills. The ability to use various types of equipment, machinery and hand tools will be advantageous, as will knowledge of CAD/CAM, DIY skills, health and safety and COSHH requirements.
The successful applicant will be able to work effectively as part of a team and have the ability to prioritise his or her own workload. This group of schools is seeking to appoint well-qualified applicants to train as teachers through the School Direct (salaried and unsalaried) Programme for the academic year 2016-17.
Places are offered in a range of subjects but we particularly interested in:
Modern Foreign Languages (French, German, Spanish)
Working in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, the schools can offer a high quality and comprehensive training programme. All schools have a proven track record in providing a stimulating and supportive environment for teacher training. Successful applicants will spend most of the week in school, with some time at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
Applicants are required to have a good degree in a relevant subject to the one they wish to teach. For the salaried route, 3 year career experience is a requirement. All candidates should have some school experience.
