Sixth Form Admissions – Entry September 2027

We welcome approximately 200 students into Year 12 each year, with around 40% joining us from other schools. Watford Girls has an excellent reputation for academic success at A level, and we would be delighted to welcome you to our Sixth Form.

All students wishing to apply must complete our online application form. Before applying, please read our Sixth Form Prospectus and Admissions Policy, including the entry requirements for the A Level subjects you wish to study.

How to apply

The application form will go live at 7pm following our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 11th November 2026 and will close at midnight on 31st January 2027.

Internal students
You will receive an email with a link to the online application form.

External students
Once applications open, please apply using our online application form which you will be able to access here from 11th November 2026.

Entry Requirements

All applicants must achieve:

  • A minimum of 46 points from their best eight GCSE results
  • At least a Grade 5 in Mathematics
  • At least a Grade 5 in either English Language or English Literature

Applicants must also meet the individual entry requirements for the A level subjects they wish to study.

  • Offer Holder Induction & Taster Day: 29th June 2027

  • Sixth Form Enrolment: 19–20th August 2027

Please note that we do not accept late applications.

If you miss the application deadline, please contact us after 11:00am on GCSE Results Day, 19th August 2027, to enquire whether any places are available.

Bursary Fund

The 16-19 Bursary Fund is a government fund put in place for students who may need financial support to undertake their A Level studies. Students already receiving a bursary must complete the Self-Declaration form below at the start of Year 13 to ensure their bursary continues in their final year.  Written confirmation will be sent to confirm their Year 13 bursary award.
