We are proud to offer a range of LAMDA lessons at Watford Grammar School for Girls. LAMDA lessons offer something for everyone, regardless of theatrical experience. Students who take this opportunity will enjoy a unique chance to develop strong communication and social skills and to markedly increase their self-confidence.
The English and Drama Department are currently working with peripatetic Drama teachers offering private LAMDA Speech and Drama lessons in school teaching over 100 students with at least 90% of students achieving a distinction in exams.
Students will be able to work towards exams in:
- Acting
- Musical Theatre
- The Speaking of Verse and Prose
- Devising Drama
- Public Speaking
These weekly Speech and Drama lessons will be charged half termly at £22.00 per half hour lesson. Fees are payable in advance directly to the peripatetic teacher on receipt of their invoice.
Students in the Lower School (Years 7-9) will be taught on a rota during lesson time and will be responsible for catching up any work missed. Students in Year 10 and above will be taught during lunchtime, after school and in their free periods where applicable.
We expect a high uptake for these lessons and place are limited. If these lessons are over-subscribed then places will be allocated on the basis of a ballot. Students not successful in securing lessons immediately will be placed on a waiting list and those that have secured places will be informed as soon as possible. If you would like your child to have a weekly LAMDA lesson, please complete all the boxes in this form: https://forms.office.com/e/r4wqCSYh0i
