Ms Pinney, Mr Boichat, Poppy and I attended the National School Theatre Awards ceremony at the Shaw Theatre in London on Monday evening to support Sara and Jessica who were both nominated for Best Actress in a Musical.
Sara won! It was such a surreal moment as we were all incredibly happy to be there and never for once a moment expected to come away with an award. But from watching the performances of the other schools involved, it was very clear that we have some extremely talented students at this school and can mix it with the very best!
The evening was a real celebration of the best of school theatre, and it really struck me what an achievement it was for Sara and Jessica to be nominated. We saw leading members of the industry presenting awards such as David Bradley and Monica Dolan and Sara was presented her award by Kara Tointon.
It was such a fantastic evening and hopefully the first of many trips we’ll be having with the talented students of WGGS.
