WGGS Year 12 students travelled to London on Saturday 16th November to take part in the Young Citizens’ Bar Mock Trial Competition and impressed judges with their confidence and commitment.
Competing against a number of other schools, our students convincingly took on the roles of those involved in a trial in the crown court – lawyers, witnesses and court offficials. They dealt with issues surrounding possession and supply of drugs, and also those which would arise with a defendant accused of ABH.
Speaking about the event, Mr Cowling, Assistant Headteacher at Watford Grammar School for Girls, said, “I was very proud of our participation in this challenging event.  Each of the students was superb in her role, speaking with confidence and understanding.  It was an excellent experience for the girls,  and one of which they made the most.”
