We are proud to offer many performing opportunities for the students at Watford Girls. This includes an annual school musical, classical plays and further opportunities with organisations such as National Theatre Connections and National Youth Monologues.

Hadestown Production 2026
Over 50 incredibly talented students across the cast, crew and tech team have bought Hadestown to life! The opening performance brought the house down with rave reviews.
“Hadestown was next level good. You’ve got to see it to believe it. Honestly, I could’ve been in the West End.
We have some crazy talented kids in our school so do come along and support them.
The professional photographer who took the dress rehearsal shots said she’d never seen a school production of such quality.”

The level of talent on that stage — the singing, acting, and dancing — was extraordinary, and you could feel how much heart each performer put into it.
The live band was phenomenal; they didn’t just accompany the show, they gave it pulse and atmosphere and made the whole thing feel alive.
It was clear that an enormous amount of work went on behind the scenes too, so credit to the teachers and production team for creating something so polished and moving.
And to the parents of the performers — you have every reason to be proud. It was a special night.”

Our students have been recognised by the National School Theatre Awards for the past two years, with Sara T-H (class of 2025) winning Best Actress in a Musical in 2024 for her role as Gomez in the Addams Family and the cast of SIX! being invited to perform at the 2025 awards ceremony at the Gillian Lynne theatre in the West End.

Offering these opportunities is expensive and we fundraise extensively to ensure we can continue to do so. Fundraising also enables us to purchase costumes and props as well as assisting with updating the lighting system.
