Welcome to Sports Day 2020. Although the events are a little different to normal we hope you find them fun and challenging. This year points are awarded for participation, uploading your evidence as well as your scores.

It is traditional for students to dress up in their form colours and we encourage you to do the same this year. Additional points are up for grabs for the best dressed!

Below you will find a description of each event, a video demonstration and a link to the forms where you can submit and upload your evidence.

Event 1: Form Relay

Your challenge is to engage as many members of your form to put together a relay. You need to film yourselves receiving and passing an object from one person to the next. Once they have been put together submit them using the form below. Points will be awarded based on how many participants you have.  Extra points will be awarded for creativity.

Event 2: 1.5km Run

Set your fitness trackers……. Your challenge is to run 1.5km as quickly as you can. You can use your fitness watches or mobile apps to track this. Take a picture of your time and click the link below to submit your evidence. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 3: Target throw

Get creative…… your task is to throw an object into another over a 10m distance. You will have 10 attempts to get your object in. Take 10 larger steps to measure your 10m and be creative with what you throw and your target! Points are awarded based on how many successful throws you complete and extra points will be awarded for creativity. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 4: Egg and Spoon Slalom

Place 5 objects (to act as cones) in a line, approx. 1m apart (one large step). The aim is to weave back and forward with you egg and spoons 3 times in the quickest time possible. There and back counts as 1 lap. You need to record your time and the number of times you drop the egg. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 5: Plank Challenge

Get those abs working! Your challenge is to hold a plank for the longest time possible. If you drop your knees/ body or excessively lift up your body the timer stops. Click here for a video demonstration.

 Event 6: Sports Quiz

 Event 7: Beat the Ball

Take an object that you can throw and catch. Your aim is to throw the object up in the air and clap your hands as many times as possible before catching it again. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 8: Sit Up Challenge

How many full sit ups can you complete in 30 seconds? You cannot have anyone or anything holding your legs. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 9:  Hurdles

Find an object you can use to hurdle over. Start standing one side. Take 3 steps on the spot and then hurdle sideways over your object. Keep repeating this as many times as you can in 1 minute. Click here for a video demonstration.

Event 10: Sports Themed Cake

This event has already been released so hopefully lots of you have been busy baking. Upload pictures of your creations using the link below.

Event 11: Paper Airplane Challenge

Your task here is to firstly make a paper airplane. You then need to throw and measure how far it travels. If you do not have a tape measure use one large step to measure 1 metre distance. Click here for a video demonstration.

 Event 12: Creative Challenge

For our final event we would like you to get creative. Write either a song or poem linked to sport. This could be about your favourite sport, why sport and physical activity is important or linked to someone who has inspired your participation in sport.
