On Friday the 3rd November a small section of the strings from Harrow Young Musicians were asked to perform as part of a metal ceremony where the Lord Lieutenant gave awards to people who have made in impact to bettering the world.

Anna Y12 performed with the English Schools Orchestra, who are an Orchestra that get together once a year in the October half term to practise and perform an amazing repertoire in high profile venues around London with children between 12-18 from all over England. This year they performed at the Cadogan Hall.

“I was honoured to be invited to play the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Watford Philharmonic Society on the 28th of October at the Grand Hall in Bushey. It was a wonderful experience playing with an orchestra with such a rich history, founded in 1935. I enjoyed this enriching opportunity which is another milestone in my musical journey. I am also delighted to be offered the position of Leader of the County Youth Orchestra and look forward to our first course in December!”

Jemma Y13 and Hayleigh Y12 have a joint string quartet with Watford Boys School and were coached by the Maggini String Quartet where they performed Beethoven String quartet in C minor 0p18 No 4 first movement in the Clarendon Muse.

And finally, congratulations to Danielle Y13 (Leader), Hayleigh Y12, Gracia Y10 and Emily Y13 who have auditioned and got places in Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra. We look forward to hearing all about their performances this year.
